The AIPAD Show is a must for anyone who wants to understand the length, breadth and depth of the fine art photography marketplace. Over the 20+ years that I have attended the AIPAD show, the knowledge, friendship and experience gained have become an indispensible part of who I am now as director of Gallery 270 for the past 13 years. Many dealers are vast storehouses of first hand information about artists and processes that I first learned about at AIPAD. As a gallery owner, I will often accompany newly interested and veteran clients to that show and serve as a guide of sorts. It makes a formidable first impression and gives the sense of the size, scope and diversity of work that is available under the welcoming umbrella of “Fine Art Photography”. I still remember the impression I got from my first AIPAD and it further fueled my passion for the medium. Though we were not accepted as members of AIPAD this past year, we will apply again this year. I am thrilled at the thought of becoming a member of this fine group of dealers who have done so much to further the fine art of photography and the collecting of photography. I look forward to adding my passion for the medium as well as a progressive business sense to what is the most formidable entity in the world of fine art photography.
